The William Michael Brown Jr. Educational Foundation Mentorship Program is designed to bridge the gap between potential and opportunity by connecting caring, compassionate leaders with students in our community. We believe that students in middle and high school benefit most from consistent guidance and trusted one-on-one relationships that build academic confidence, encourage personal growth, and support informed decision-making about life after high school. At the heart of our program is mentorship rooted in encouragement, accountability, and real-world experience. Mentors serve as positive role models who walk alongside students as they navigate academic challenges, explore future pathways, and develop the confidence needed to reach their full potential—whether that path leads to college, trade school, the military, or the workforce.

Program Structure

The mentorship program begins with Foundation Board Members serving as mentors, bringing lived experience and professional backgrounds in education, healthcare, business, military service, media, and community leadership. As the program grows, trained community volunteers—including educators, trade professionals, entrepreneurs, veterans, and college alumni—will join the mentor network to expand student access and support. Mentors meet with students individually and in group settings, offering guidance on academic progress, goal-setting, career exploration, and life skills. Regular check-ins ensure students stay engaged, supported, and on track.
